About Security Checks
Notes
Airports in Japan are currently implementing additional security screenings (such as double screenings at the boarding gate and other locations) in order to take more extensive measures to prevent hijacking and terrorism. Furthermore, due to revisions to the law, passengers are prohibited from carrying any items that could be used to kill or wound a person, such as small knives, hammers, bats, golf clubs, and ice picks, onto an airplane.
If you need to bring such an item with you to your destination, you can have it transported by plane by wrapping it appropriately and checking it as checked baggage (baggage handed over to the airline company).
