Topics 2022/03/23 Notice on Mandatory Security Screenings
Thank you for using Hiroshima Airport.
Carrying weapons or dangerous goods on board aircraft is prohibited by the Civil Aeronautics Act.
Pursuant to a revision to the Civil Aeronautics Act effective March 10, 2022, you must now undergo a security screening before boarding an aircraft.
Going beyond security checkpoints without undergoing a security screening is a violation of the Civil Aeronautics Act, and you may be imprisoned for up to one year or fined up to 500,000 yen.
When boarding an aircraft, please follow the instructions of screeners and staff and undergo a security screening.
Also, by instruction of the Civil Aviation Bureau in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, as of September 13, 2019, we are now enforcing stricter outerwear screenings, shoe screenings, and explosives screenings as part of our countermeasures against terrorism on aircrafts.
As the stricter security screenings may take more time, we ask that you arrive at the airport well in advance of your flight.
